Part-time Opportunity: QUT Communications Assistant

Initially this role will be 7.5 hours a week for six months. These hours can be completed in one day per week or spread over two days per week.

Duties include:

  • Writing, editing and reviewing content, e.g. web, social media, print, magazines and annual reports
  • Identifying communication/marketing opportunities in the QUT student space
  • Managing engagement and communication projects, including meeting with stakeholders, collating information, developing a strategy and delivering communication products
  • Provide communications advice in departmental meetings


  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience with QUT’s social media platforms/how students want to be communicated with
  • Current QUT student – communications/marketing/journalism or similar 


  • Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign/Illustrator/Photoshop)
  • Video editing
